What's Your Favorite Recipe?

Posted by AnthonyAlex

My mom started a blog, as well, and had the idea to post recipe ideas. I think that would be fun! Check out her blog www.blessedinbama.blogspot.com! She is featuring a Coca Cola cake. I think it would be fun for any of you ladies out there to share your favorite recipe here, too! I will start with one of my favorites and I hope some of you will join in! Today I will share a recipe that I got from my Grandma Fitzgerald several years ago. At Thanksgiving and Christmas she has a counter full of goodies and it's hard not to eat something everytime you just walk in the kitchen, even if you weren't even hungry! She mostly has tons of pies, fudge, and seasoned pecans that she does herself! One of the pies she had out this particular year was "The Cherry Cheese Pie." I normally would go for the chocolate instead of the fruit, but it looked good, so I thought I would try it, and now it's one of my faves! Here it is: Cherry Cheese Pie

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • regular size tub of Cool Whip
  • 1 C. sugar (opt. - I have seen similar recipes that call for 1/3 C. and recently I made this pie and totally left out the sugar and everyone thought it was good! Because of the sweetness of the Cool Whip you can get away with it!)
  • dash of vanilla or almond extract
  • can of cherry pie filling (Of course, you can substitute any pie filling you want. Anthony likes blueberry the best, but I prefer the cherry!)
  • graham cracker crust
Directions: Mix together the cream cheese, Cool Whip, sugar, and vanilla and pour into the pie crust. Then top with the pie filling. Chill for a while and enjoy! Note: You can set part of the Cool Whip aside and when the pie is assembled, put the remaining Cool Whip on top!..............Kristy

MMMMMMMmmmm I've tasted this. Its really good. I think I could've eaten the whole pie myself at Thanksgiving.

One of my best buds from Sacramento (you can visit Misha: peeking dimples and DavidMishaCY blogs) gave this recipe to me and its really cheap to make: Chicken with Mushroom sauce pasta.
You'll need Fettucini noodles, 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1 tablespoon of butter, can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup of sour cream. Sautee chicken in butter and salt and pepper to taste. When chicken is cooked thoroughly add soup and sour cream and warm. Noodles can be cooking. Very quick, easy, and cheap to make.
